The Webster Apartments is a not for profit charitable organization. Charles and Josiah Webster’s generosity and kindheartedness has enriched the lives of tens of thousands of women throughout the last ninety one years. We too look, as we feel we should, for ways we can all enrich the lives of other women who may not have as lovely a home as we do.
Throughout the year, as our guests move out of Webster and on to the next chapter in their lives, they often leave some belongings in their rooms: winter clothes essential in New York that they won’t need in Florida, a bargain sweater that never fit just right. What to know what we do with them?
We’re happy to tell you that we donate all of these items to another charitable organization, The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army, in turn, sells these clothes through their Family Stores and uses the proceeds to fund their Adult Rehabilitation Centers.
So when you’re packing your bags to leave us, don’t hesitate to leave a few shirts or pairs of shoes behind. We’ll do our part to find them a new home too. We promise.
