The Webster Apartments offers safe, affordable and convenient accommodations for women studying, interning, or training in New York City. At Webster, guests have the flexibility of staying as little as 31 days and up to 5 years with no lease agreement or long-term commitment. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis for reservations to check-in on any day! If you are a student, intern, trainee or fellow check your eligibility and apply below!

You are considered a student/intern/trainee if you are enrolled in a/an:
- Undergraduate program at a college or university
- Trade, technical or other school program (i.e.: performing arts, cosmetology,photography, culinary, etc.)
– OR – - Currently working as OR received a new offer for an internship, traineeship, fellowship, clerkship, etc
Rooms & ACCOMMODATIONS
Webster’s 13-story building features over 370 single-guest rooms which are fully furnished with dorm-style furniture, closet, and an in-room sink. All guest room floors offer multiple shared bath areas with individual showers and shared restrooms.
Amenities
In addition to the flexibility on your length of stay, our rates are lower than long-term hotel or Airbnb stays, making Webster the perfect option during these challenging times. Your rate includes a private room, two meals per day, fast WiFi for your remote work or online classes, and all the amenities you need to live safely & comfortably in New York City.

I was blessed to stay here for a year in the early 80s. I was in a personal transition in my life and had no place to live even though I was working. My memories are all excellent. I am sad to hear that they will be selling the building. I felt nothing but kindness, security and peace while there. God bless the lovely ladies who were on the Board of Directors. This is one life that was positively changed forever from the experience and from their vision.

I promise you, this is the best place to live ! I have been living here for the past 5 months, and I have never been happier. The food is amazing, the staff?? SUPER FRIENDLY? the girls that live here are also so nice, and they are all from everywhere around the world. if you are looking to move to nyc as a woman, this is the best move you can make

I lived there for six months. It is a loving, clean, beautiful, homy place with all-rounded services. The price is unbeatable. The food offered is nutritious, varied, and tasty. All the staff are very friendly. All public places are regularly sanitized. I think this residence is the ideal place for an unmarried woman coming to live in New York.

My daughter stayed there last summer and absolutely loved it. It was her first time living in NYC. The accommodations are very clean, convenient, and secure. The food is amazing. Thank you to everyone for doing such a nice job. Well done!

Best service! I had to cancel my stay due to a change in my internship dates and they were so quick to solve my issue and to refund me. Very nice and polite staff, so responsive. I will for sure book again when my new in-person internship dates are available!

I lived at The Webster from 1977 thru 1980. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I remain close friends with a number of Webster friends. Today, 44 years later we call ourselves The Webster women. When I first moved in I paid $45 then $47 per week. The rent was $52 per week when I left in mid 1980. The rooms were clean and safe and the building was beautifully maintained. The cafeteria meals were actually super and for $1 they would pack you a little lunch in a brown paper bag. Over the years my Webster friends and I would visit the building and speak with staff and residents and we are always relieved and so happy that virtually nothing has changed. The Webster is a treasure that is the best and safest place for young women to stay here in NYC. I can't say enough about this wonderful residence for women. It is unique and nothing compares to what this lovely home and staff provide to its residents. We are all saddened to hear that the building will be sold and I desperately hope that similar housing, akin to this residence will materialize to provide that same safe haven to young women seeking affordable housing and above all a safe and homelike community.

I was moving back to NYC after helping care for my aging mother upstate. I read about The Webster in the NYTimes and it sounded like an ideal place to get back into the rhythm of New York. I got so much writing work done while living there -- the free wifi was fast and reliable -- they clean your room once a week, and the food was good and plentiful. I made some good friends while I lived there -- and we're still friends today even though we eventually found our own apartments. If you need to be in NYC for your work or internship, I highly recommend it. My favorite thing was eating dinner in the back garden in the summertime, when there'd be lightning bugs fluttering around. Who knew you could experience such a quiet tranquil place in the middle of Manhattan?

I stayed here for a few months back in 2016 and had a fantastic experience. The location is very central so it's very easy to travel around and great if you're new to NYC. The staff were very friendly and I met some really nice people while I stayed there. The rooms were comfy and clean, and most importantly, I felt very safe staying here. Would definitely recommend this place!

I lived at The Webster Apartments for three years and had a wonderful experience! The location is great, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the dining hall is also great serving two meals per day. The building's 24-hour security also made me feel very safe during my stay. When NYC began to shut down due to COVID-19, the Webster staff did an amazing job in enforcing protocols and keeping the residents safe. I will have many fond memories from my time staying at The Webster Apartments!

Webster Apartments is an amazing place to stay in New York City. The whole building is very clean and the staff always friendly and helpful. I loved the food (which was always tasty and balanced). For Vegetarians and Vegans the food might not be satisfying every day though. The building could not be better located, it's possible to commute everywhere in a short time and even walk or ride a bike to most of the interesting places in the city. The rooms are small but pretty and comfortable and some rooms have an amazing view.All in all I had the perfect experience with the Webster Apartments and can recommend everyone who comes to NYC to stay there.

I was originally introduced to the Webster Apartments through a university trip, and it was the perfect place to stay when I moved to NYC to start my first job. With rent being all-inclusive of food, housing, and utilities, (did I mention free laundry??) budgeting couldn't be easier for a new grad. Rooms are clean, furnished, and a good size- but if you are unhappy in any way the staff are accommodating and more than happy to move you around (they quickly moved me to a new room with better lighting)! Meals were nutritious and all around good, you do need to be aware of when serving times are but considering you don't need to cook or clean up...I'll take it! I agree that mini fridges should be considered, on days where you eat out in the city (of which there will be many) it'd be nice to keep a few things. As others have said, the location is perfect for commuting or zipping around the city, the parlor rooms are cozy, and the rooftop is gorgeous!Even while staying during COVID, I was more than impressed with safety measures enforced by Webster to keep staff and residents safe but never uncomfortable. I moved out this summer into an apartment in the city, and while it was time for me to leave I'll always look back on my time there fondly. The staff as well as the tenants themselves are all kind, open, and welcoming.I can't recommend the Webster enough. If you're adverse to dorms and any sort of co-living situation, I'm urging you to give it a try!

Webster is a great accommodation choice for young professional women who want to live/or work in New York City. I really enjoyed and appreciated the safety of the building, the cleanliness of the facilities, the access and ease of in-house laundry services, the themed holiday celebrations/decorations and more importantly, the location of the building! Further, the staff, housekeeping, and security guards were hospitable; I definitely felt safe and secure at the Webster.Honestly, the living experience is what you make of it. The only thing I remember being anxious about was missing the dining hours! It would be nice if the building allowed residents to keep a mini fridge in their rooms. There were times where I wish I had been able to store meals or groceries for when I missed the building's cafeteria hours.Regardless, I do wish I was able to experience a full summer at the Webster! I moved during the winter season so I, unfortunately, did not get to take advantage of the beautiful rooftop.I remember being really excited to move in and begin my “independent life” in New York City. I quickly fell at home and in love with my cozy room in the heart of New York City; you will too!

I’ve been living at the Webster Apartments for a month now, and I love it! My room is so cozy. The building is always quiet and very clean. The staff is nice and helpful. The food is good and you always have healthy options. I would recommend the Webster Apartments to anyone!There is only one negative thing I wanted to point out…They only give plastic / disposable cutlery in the dinning hall. It’s terrible for the environment. Hundreds of plastic plates, utensils, and lids go to waste every day. I think they are doing this because of Covid, but it doesn’t make sense… If the reusable cutlery was washed properly after each use, there would be no risk. It seems more dangerous to allow people whose vaccination status is unclear to take the elevators without a mask on…
