If you’ve dreamt of living in New York City, then you’ve envisioned yourself visiting some of our big attractions. And if you’re here for a shortened summer internship, then you’ll want to make sure you prioritize that list!

And now that we are in the wake of COVID-19, many of our destinations for visitors are reopening. Check out our list below of New York hot spot staples to visit when you have limited weekends to explore the city.

Statue of Liberty

It seems impossible to spend any amount of time in New York without a visit to one of our most iconic destinations. You can take a ferry to visit the Statue of Liberty and spend an afternoon roaming the park and museum on the island where it stands. At this time, the interior of the statue is closed due to COVID restrictions, but that won’t take away from the beauty of seeing Lady Liberty in person.

Central Park

Central Park is quintessentially NYC. While no tickets or plans are needed, only a beautiful day will make it even more perfect.  Grab some friends from Webster and head out and explore the many corners of the park or bring a blanket to sit on the grass and enjoy the sun and a picnic. And coming back this year is the SummerStage and Shakespeare in the Park!

Rockefeller Center should be at the top of your list if you have limited time in the city this summer. Enjoy lunch in one of the many restaurants and then take in the view at Top of the Rock! Before you head over, purchase your tickets online here.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral

While you’re visiting Rockefeller Center, be sure to look across the street at another NYC landmark, St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The sheer beauty of the architecture will leave you in awe. You can take in the beauty outside, and also purchase tickets for an indoor tour here.

Fifth Avenue

Speaking of splurging, a walk down Fifth Avenue is a treat! Far and away, the most well-known street for shopping on the East Coast. Even if you’re not buying, you can window shop as you stroll past Tiffany, Burberry, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and so many more.

Times Square

Finally, when you think of NYC, you must think of Times Square! The New Year’s Eve ball drop, the crossroads of the world, and probably the most visited spot in the city. You haven’t seen New York City unless you’ve stopped here. In a city that famously never sleeps, Times Square’s vibrance further reflects that sentiment.
