April is here, and if you’re anything like us, you’ve probably been waiting for this moment since February. The days are getting longer, the NYC streets are buzzing again, and there’s that unmistakable feeling in the air…
It’s time for a fresh start.
Spring cleaning isn’t just about your closet (though we’ll get to that). It’s about hitting reset on the things that have quietly been weighing you down all winter. So if you’re interning across the bridge in Manhattan, studying for finals, or grinding at your first full-time job, here’s how to shake off the cold season and step into spring feeling lighter, clearer, and more you.
Declutter Your Space
Let’s start with the obvious → your room. We know how easy it is to accumulate things when you’re busy and on the go. That pile of clothes on the chair? The skincare and makeup products that have been around for a while? The notes from a class you finished two semesters ago? Now’s the time.
Set aside a couple of hours this weekend and go through everything with one simple question: Does this actually serve my life right now? If not, donate it or toss it. Seriously. It might seem painful, but when your space feels clean and intentional, it genuinely changes how you feel coming home after a long day.

Declutter Your Schedule
Spring is notorious for schedule overload from the warmer weather arriving. New commitments creep in, all the yes-es pile up, and suddenly you’re exhausted, wondering how you got here. Take 20 minutes to audit your calendar. What’s actually bringing you value: professionally, personally, or socially? What are you doing out of obligation or guilt? Do you need to push anything out?
But definitely remember to protect your free time like it matters, because it does. Building in downtime isn’t laziness… it’s strategy. Some of the best ideas and most meaningful connections happen when you’re not rushing somewhere.

Speaking of connections, spring is the perfect time to swap that Netflix night for something that actually fills your cup. Hit up one of the events happening right here in Downtown Brooklyn, take a walk through Brooklyn Bridge Park, or finally make plans with the girls on your floor you keep saying you’ll hang out with.
Declutter Your Mindset
This one’s the hardest — and the most worth it. Winter can do a number on our mental clutter. Spending more time inside, lingering self-doubt about the future, or goals you set in January that have been making you feel behind? Let’s just go ahead and leave those at the door.
Try journaling for five minutes in the morning. Not to plan your day (although you can), but just to dump whatever’s in your head. It’s surprisingly effective at clearing out the mental noise before you take on the day. Pair that with some movement (rooftop stretches, anyone?!), and you’ll notice a real shift in how you’re showing up for yourself and others.
Not into writing? Swap the journal for meditation. It works wonders!

Lastly, be honest with yourself about what you actually want this season. Not what looks good, not what everyone else is doing… what you want. Write it down. Tell a friend. Make it real. It’s easier to manifest when you put it out into the world.
Your Fresh Start Starts Here
One of our favorite things about Webster Apartments is that you’re never doing any of this alone. You’re surrounded by a community of ambitious, driven women who are all navigating similar points in life. Share your spring reset goals with a neighbor, start a walking habit together, or just be the one who asks, “Hey, how are you actually doing?”
That’s the energy April calls for: intentional, open, and ready for what’s next.
Here’s to your best spring yet!
