From Belgium to the Big Apple
Webster guest, Joyce D. from Ghent, Belgium came to the city to pursue her post-doctoral Fellowship at NYU Law School. Joyce’s account of her experience with us as a guest at The Webster Apartments reminds us of why it’s so important to have this establishment for young women.
What She Loves The Most At Webster
Without a doubt, the staff. Absolutely lovely people, kind-hearted and helpful, which made moving to NYC by myself a lot less intimidating.
Joyce goes on to note, “And also, the lovely rooms to work in, including the library.” We love that Joyce is able to take advantage of the work/study space that The Webster Apartments offers its guests. In fact, we’ve written about them before here.
A Welcome Retreat In The City
One thing many of our guests have in common is that they find the city to be a bit intimidating. We asked Joyce how being a guest at Webster boosted her NYC experience and she had this to say: “It immediately made me feel welcome and less isolated, which is a huge asset given the vastness of the city.”
And how about a favorite memory? Joyce notes, “Interactions with staff members at the front desk. They witnessed me walking back into the building in all states – tired, exhilarated, joyful, slightly tipsy, over-triggered, out of breath from running. And each and every single time, you’re met with a smile and a quick chat. Absolutely loved it.”
